A Beautiful Buddhist Story!

Once upon a time a Buddhist master lived with a group of his disciples in a remote monastery.

He had a habit of taking a silent walk every evening. Also, he allowed only one student to accompany him in his walk provided that the student is not allowed to utter a single word. It was the turn of a new student on this day.

As they began the walk and when both the student and the teacher reached up to the mountain, both the student and the teacher saw the sunset that was charming! So the, student couldn't help saying "What a beautiful sunset" with a surprise.

HE BROKE THE RULE!

Soon after these words were spoken, the teacher stopped the walk and returned back to the monastery.

The teacher fetched all the students and said that the new student will never be allowed to take a walk with him anymore.

The other students begged the teacher saying "master, he doesn't know anything, he just spoke a few words, and yet he is new student, please forgive him".

Then the master said, "when my student said "what a beautiful sunset, he was NOT watching the beauty of the sunset- he was just watching the words".

"If you understand the difference between the two, you understand a great piece of dhamma."
